Colon Hydrotherapy for Irritable Bowel Syndrome
by Sandra Kim Leong
Many people with IBS find that their life is often interrupted by IBS symptoms and bowel irritation. If you suffer from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), you need to know that there are many different treatment options available that may help to decrease the incidence of your symptoms. One treatment for colon cleansing for IBS is known as “colonic hydrotherapy”. The main premise behind this treatment is that it helps to “wash” out your digestive system to allow it to start working more normally with less severe and frequent IBS symptoms. Many people have found the colon cleansing raises their entire health and fitness levels, as well as decreasing their IBS symptoms.
This procedure of “colonic hydrotherapy” or “colon irrigation” works to wash out the waste products that may be built up in your digestive system that may be causing painful and irregular bowel movements. These toxins are removed the irrigation that is placed into the body.
Warm sterile water is inserted into the rectum and then it moves into the rest of the intestines, cleaning and removing the toxins as it goes. It leaves the bowel and intestines clean and free from much of the waste build-up.
Colon hydrotherapy for IBS is suitable if your primary symptom is constipation. IBS is not the only problem that colon cleansing can help improve. Other people undergo colonic irrigation to help cleanse their digestive system, because other serious digestive disorders or abdominal pain can be treated using this treatment method. In most cases, you physician will refer you to someone who can perform a colonic irrigation or they may have the experience to do it themselves.
The colonic irrigation procedure does not normally cause pain, but there may be some discomfort. Massage techniques are normally used during the procedure to help remove all of the waste products from your body. Your practitioner will try to ensure that your procedure causes you as little discomfort as possible, while still being thorough.
After you have undergone your colonic irrigation, you may find that you can control your IBS symptoms more successfully by making small changes in your life. Dietary changes may be an important key to coping with IBS to ensure that your symptoms do not return. If you find that the colonic hydrotherapy for IBS was not helpful, then you may want to consult your physician to make sure that your symptoms do not indicate another illness. Colon hydrotherapy is one treatment method that you can use to help treat your IBS. To undergo this procedure, locate a qualified clinic in your area and/or ask your physician for a referral to an experienced practitioner.
In most cases, patients find that colonic irrigation makes a big difference in the incidence of their IBS symptoms. It has been found to allow the muscles to relax that are in the digestive system which makes it easier for your food to digest. If you are looking for a treatment method to better help control your IBS, then you should consider colon hydrotherapy.
