Fiber Rich Meal Ideas For Your Child (IBS Treatment Options)

There are actually various ways of treating IBS. These are not limited to consuming medications. One such treatment for IBS is do detoxification.

Detoxification helps to remove the toxic waste build up in your body. In doing so, it helps you with smooth and regular bowel movements, thus decreasing your IBS symptoms. In addition, you also see improved health, get fewer allergies and experience more energy.

Many children simply dislike eating vegetables. Mine not only do not like taking vegetables but also cringe if they need to take fruits. Here are some fun and creative ideas for meal times to ensure that they have an adequate intake of fiber:
  • Pancakes with wholegrain flour. Top it with berries and raisins and some fruits. Make oatmeal (a whole grain) part of your kids' morning meals.
  • Fiber-rich cereal with bananas. Add almonds (or almond flakes) for more fiber.
  • Top off your child’s meals with a tablespoon of bran.
  • Make sandwiches with whole-grain breads (rye, oat, or wheat), instead of white.
  • Use whole-grain spaghetti and other pastas, instead of white.
  • Serve wild or brown rice with meals, instead of white rice.
  • Top off your pizza with bits of broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, zuchinni and pineapples.
  • Serve fresh fruits for snacks instead of chocolates.
  • Add banana instead of chocolate to your muffins. Or apples, raisins or berries. Add raisins, berries, bananas, or chopped or pureed apples to the mix for even more fiber.
  • Top ice cream or yoghurt with fruits and nuts.

The most important tip: Make sure that you do not turn up your noses at these foods too. Show a good example by consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables and all fiber rich foods.
