You first need to establish that IBS is not centered in your digestive system. It is linked to the nerves that run from the brain to your digestive system. That is why things like stress, trauma, and tension cause you more symptoms. If you have been under a great deal of stress lately, then it may be causing your digestive system to work abnormally.
To reduce stress, you may wish to consider yoga or exercise. Or you can try meditation or other breathing techniques to help calm your nerves.
